GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — Artist Ric Standridge will paint live to music during Artisphere in a series called “Art in Motion” at Smileys on the Roxx.
Standridge has synesthesia, a condition that allows him to hear colors. He uses this ability to transform music into visual art during live painting sessions.
“Art in Motion” features Standridge painting to live music performances. He will paint to the sounds of The Night Owls on Friday, May 8, and to the music of Jacob Johnson on Saturday, May 9.
Musician Jacob Johnson will perform during the Saturday event while Standridge creates art inspired by the sounds.
Each piece created during the live painting sessions will be available for purchase after the show.
Smileys on the Roxx is located at 734 South Main Street in Greenville’s West End. The venue features live local music, cocktails, food and sports viewing.
