Two artists’ receptions set Aug. 17 at Massillon Museum

Highlights

Guests can meet Emily Bartolone in Studio M, where her exhibition, “On Its Head,” is displayed. Her paintings merge figuration with geometric abstraction. A Massillon-based artist, Bartolone explores the intersection of shape and color and how those elements can express human experiences and relationships encountered in daily life.  

In the Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery, visitors can view “Accessible Expressions Ohio,” presented by Art Possible Ohio. MassMu annually hosts the adjudicated, statewide exhibition of artwork by Ohio artists with disabilities. Artists of any age with a disability who live in Ohio may enter in the youth, emerging, or professional categories. “Accessible Expressions Ohio” is designed to change perceptions and raise awareness about disability by presenting the exhibition in inclusive settings. The art in the exhibition is for sale. By bridging arts and disability, Art Possible Ohio’s programs and services promote inclusive spaces and accessible opportunities for Ohioans. To learn more, visit artpossibleohio.org.
