CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — UVA neuroscience students seeing their research through a different lens as CHS art students created works inspired by the brain.

This year’s art show is the second year of the collaboration and the brains behind it all, UVA neuroscience student Sarah Hunter-Chang, says this project is a full circle moment for her.

“I grew up here and went to CHS. And knew that Ms. Jennifer Kett was still teaching art she was my old teacher, I love her, and have wanted to do an art science collaboration for some time,” Hunter-Chang said.

Hunter-Chang said the CHS students were then able to come tour the labs to spark some inspiration for their pieces.  For some students, this was the first time their art was being displayed in a show of this magnitude.

“It’s very exciting. This is the first time something like this has gone on with my art in it and it is very cool to see people walking around and admiring,” CHS Senior Laine Carter said.

The collaboration gallery is open through the end of the month at the Bridge Progressive Arts initiative.
