Appointments
Tate has appointed Daisy Desrosiers as its Britton Family Curator at Large, North America. Based in the United States, she will focus on the development of North American art in Tate’s collection through research and acquisitions.
Lycia Lobo, chief operating officer at the Design Museum, has been confirmed as chair of the board of trustees of Chiswick House & Gardens Trust, the independent charity that operates the 65-acre site in west London.

Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery | Exeter

This exhibition brings together over 150 objects spanning art, science, nature and cultural histories, including works by Hokusai, Kandinsky, Bridget Riley and Andy Warhol. Objects on display include a diamante-studded Trinidadian carnival costume, Victorian mourning dress and examples of pre-historic gold jewellery. The exhibition was curated by Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery in partnership with Sheffield Museums, Tullie House Carlisle, Gosport Museum & Art Gallery and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery for MAGNET, with support from Art Fund and Arts Council England.
Aleksandra Kasuba: Shelters for the Senses

Tate St Ives presents the first UK museum exhibition of Lithuanian-American artist Aleksandra Kasuba (1923–2019), spanning seven decades of her career from early paintings and mosaics to sculptures and spatial environments. The exhibition features works from the collection of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, including ‘Spectrum, An Afterthought’ (1975/2014), a multi-sensory passageway of coloured zones made of aluminium, neon, plastic, plywood, steel and tensile fabric. A recreation of Kasuba’s ‘Live-In Environment’, originally installed in her New York apartment, is also presented alongside drawings, collages and models.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Brighton Museum & Art Gallery | Brighton

The sixty-first edition of ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’, on tour from the Natural History Museum in London, opens at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. The exhibition features award-winning nature photography selected from over 60,000 entries submitted by photographers from 113 countries and territories. Entries were judged anonymously on creativity, originality, and technical excellence by an international panel of industry experts.
Helios
National Museum Cardiff | Cardiff
Opening: 21 July 2026 – Closing: 30 August 2026
Artist Luke Jerram presents ‘Helios’, a seven-metre-wide illuminated sculpture of the Sun created using detailed NASA imagery. The installation is accompanied by an atmospheric soundscape and is free to enter. Accompanying events include Sunset Yoga sessions, a Science of the Sun talk with science rapper Jon Chase, and a Museum Sleepover.
Funding
The Museum of Archaeology at Palace Green Library has received a £217,844 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to redevelop its main gallery. The redevelopment will include new interpretation, refreshed displays, and enhanced accessibility, with public engagement playing a central role. This project builds on the Museum’s 50th anniversary and aligns with the University’s commitment to preserving Durham’s heritage.
