Final vestige of Alan Bond’s art collection heads to auction


A Marc Chagall circus picture to go under the hammer in London next month is a beautiful but telling reminder of what was one of Australia’s mightiest private art collections.

Acrobate au cheval rouge, created by the Russian-born fabulist in 1958, hung in the Perth home of Alan Bond’s first wife Eileen Bond until her death in July last year, aged 87.
