‘First Thursday’ gallery experience fuses live jazz with visual art

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A popular Portland art experience is making a return just in time for the “First Thursday” outdoor art festival in Portland’s Pearl district.

“The Lobby” is popping up at The Writer’s Block gallery on NW Flanders Street, merging stunning visual art with live music from jazz musician Meg Samples.

The experience titled ‘Seeing the What’ opens Thursday night, May 7, and runs through May 23. Art curator Sima Familant and musician Meg Samples joined us on AM Extra to tell us more about the multisensory art exhibit.
