Portstewart artists Adrian Margey and Evana Bjourson will be staging their annual joint Summer Exhibition at Portballintrae Village Hall this weekend (Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18).
This annual exhibition follows hot on the heels of the duo’s three week July residency at The Arcadia in Portrush. Some of the artwork created during their residency will be showcased at the Portballintrae exhibition.
Visitors should expect to see Margey’s dynamic portrayals of Northern Ireland’s landscape and landmarks, especially his bold, colourful depictions of the North Coast that have brought his work to prominence. In addition, visitors will also enjoy his more impressionistic works that adopt a naturalistic colour palette and employ hand and finger painting techniques. Bjourson’s stunning work incorporating human interaction, seascapes and coastal experiences will also be showcased. Her figurative work reflects thoughts on the reason for and role of humanity while her dynamic wave paintings take inspiration from life on the North Coast.
“We are both thrilled to be returning to Portballintrae for our Summer Exhibition and Sale of Work. We hope to build on the success of last year’s exhibition which drew large visitor numbers. The Village Hall is a great space with high ceilings and lots of natural light and is right next to Runkerry Strand. What more could two artists wish for,” enthused Margey.
The Exhibition will run from Friday, August 16 from 11am to 9pm and continues again on Saturday, August 17 from 11am to 9pm and on Sunday, August 18 from 11am to 6pm at Portballintrae Village Hall.
Admission is free – everyone welcome. Free parking is available in front of the Village Hall.
