Newcastle Fringe Festival has announced a stellar line-up of acts set to play across the city this summer, with everything from theatre and music to comedy and cabaret to look forward to.
Having made its debut in 2021, organisers have promised something for everyone in this year’s programme which will run for 10 days between July 16 and July 27, showcasing the very best of homegrown talent as well as artists from all over the UK. The festival will take place across five venues – Alphabetti Theatre, Prohibition Cabaret Bar and Dance City in Newcastle city centre, as well as The Old Coal Yard and The Cumberland Arms in the Ouseburn – with more than 50 acts taking part.
Tickets are on sale for all shows now on the Newcastle Fringe Festival website, with full prices standing at £10 or £15 depending on the venue and concessions available. The festival begins on Tuesday, July 16 and runs until Thursday, July 27, excluding Sunday and Monday – check out the full line-up below.
Alphabetti Theatre
There will be shows every day at Alphabetti Theatre across all 10 festival dates. There’s a huge range of acts to look forward to, from Meta4 Dance’s show that combines football with contemporary dance to musical adventure The Ballad of Billie and the Tree Stump perfect for young audiences and their grown-ups – you can find full details of each show here.

The Cumberland Arms
The Cumberland Arms will play host to Newcastle Fringe Festival shows on July 16, 18 and 27. And there’s plenty of variety at this venue too, from stand-up and open mics to ‘Noir-thern’ parody Name of the Dame and black comedy horror classic The King in Yellow – check out the full details of each show here.

The Old Coal Yard
The Old Coal Yard will have Newcastle Fringe Festival shows on June 18, 19, 25 and 26, including Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy. Other highlights include a night dedicated to the women of pop, funk and soul from A Hot Minute, a unique drag cabaret show that uses film and animation from Sally, and a new comedy special from PlastiQ – you can read more about each act and book tickets here.

Dance City
A new Newcastle Fringe Festival venue for 2024, on July 25 Dance City will host two shows: a comedy from Jessie Cave on birth, motherhood, breakups and reunions, and an interactive RPG experience from Roll For Initiative that crosses the world of gaming with theatre. Prohibition Cabaret Bar
The Prohibition Cabaret Bar will also play host to a stellar line-up of acts on July 24, 25 and 26, with everything from a ‘climate crisis cabaret’ to stand-up and poetry on the programme.
