Art collecting is more passion than investment

UBS is bringing back Art SG for the second year, to be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in January 2024. The move aligns with Jin Yee Young, UBS Singapore country head and Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific co-head’s outlook on art.

The art fair will be held from 19 to 21 January, alongside Singapore Art Week. UBS is the founding and lead partner of Art SG, which was launched last year, branding itself as a contemporary art fair.

Speaking at a media briefing on the news on 14 November, Young said: ‘At UBS, we view art as a passion which has an emotional value and sometimes financial value for our clients. But we need to stress that we don’t actually advise them to look at art as an investment class.’
