“Into the World of Finn Stone”, by contemporary artist Finn Stone, is currently on show at the Woolff Gallery on Charlotte Street until 6 September 2024.
The exhibition of 32 works presents an eclectic mix of styles, mediums and genres, which are held together by Stone’s underlying artistic intention and journey.
He produces both sculptures and paintings — and most famously, work that fuses the two. He is recognised for his pioneering fibreglass furniture design, with the creation of “Ball Chairs”.
His featured works fall in the realms of abstract expressionism, contemporary pop, street art and surrealism. Stone is inspired by artists such as Jean-Micheal Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Jason Pollock and Vincent Van Gogh.
Stone incorporates objects and materials found around him into his works, such as old TVs, paint brushes and patch-heads. In doing so, Stone’s work is an “experimental revision of the present.”
“Into the World of Finn Stone” at Woolff Gallery, 89 Charlotte Street, London W1T 4PU, until 6 September 2024. The gallery will continue to show its represented artists downstairs throughout the exhibition.
