MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A museum at Northern Michigan University is gearing up to celebrate the college’s 125th anniversary.
The Devos Art Museum is holding a special photography exhibit to celebrate NMU’s accomplishments over the years. The photos are from all around the U.P.
Collector Jack Deo provided the photos and will be giving a talk about the collection on Oct. 10.
The Devos Art Museum collections curator says these photos are a unique look at what life was like 125 years ago.
“It’s documenting a lot of really normal people,” Devos Art Museum Collection Curator Sydney Sarasin said. “There’s some really fun depictions of people with their bikes and just having fun with their friends in the studio. It’s a really approachable exhibition.”
The collection is currently up and is set to come down on Nov. 2.
