Spring 2026 SIU senior art exhibition on display
CARBONDALE, Ill. — An exhibition this week is highlighting the work of 16 seniors in Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s School of Art and Design.
The works are on display today through Friday, May 8, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Glove Factory Studio Art Building at the Surplus Gallery on campus. A closing reception, also open to the public, is in the gallery from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, following commencement ceremonies for students in the College of Arts and Media.
Each of the students presents various artworks that include glass, metals, industrial design, communication design and studio art as part of the Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis requirement to graduate.
The seniors, along with their specializations, are:
- Gabby Barlow, general art.
- Lydia Dowell, industrial design.
- Kassidee Gabby, communication design.
- Nolan Hamilton, industrial design and communication design.
- Connor Kirchoff, industrial design.
- Sean Mulhall, glass.
- Autumn Reed, communication design.
- Luke Richey, metalsmithing.
- Jane Shiff, communication design.
- Stormi Simmons, studio art.
- Caroline Smith, communication design.
- Annabelle Sulish, general art.
- Olive Vowell, studio art.
- Lyza West, drawing.
- Olivia Zambetta, studio art.
