(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) — The Alfa Art Gallery presents “Resonance” – a solo exhibition of Vesselin Kourtev’s work from April 2 through June 1, 2024. Vesselin Kourtev is an internationally acclaimed fine art artist with almost 40 years of professional experience. In this solo exhibition, Vesselin presents us with his classic style of bold abstract art that aids us in learning more about different interpersonal relationships that humans form.
Kourtev explores new possibilities through paint dripping and layering of canvases to create a singular image. Vesselin’s unique style stands out from the rest as he has been praised by many esteemed critics, fellow artists, and high-profile members of society.
“Resonance” takes us through a dreamlike setting accompanied by outstanding paint splashes of color. Kourtev’s paintings consist of figures that seem ghostlike as they fade into the page. We are brought on a journey of emotion through facial expression, color, and strategic artistic technique. Themes of interpersonal relationships, human connection, and deep emotion are present throughout his paintings. Similarities to his previous works can be seen in his most recent cycle, alongside new creative ventures.
Since 1987, Vesselin has been extremely productive throughout his experience as an artist. Kourtev’s work has been presented in 34 independent exhibitions, as well as 15 collective exhibitions, throughout Europe and the U.S. With high levels of education and countless global exhibitions, his professional status as an artist precedes him. He earned his master’s degree in fine art at the University of Veliko Turnovo, which is located in his home country of Bulgaria. Vesselin founded the Alfa Art Gallery in 2007 after moving to America with his family. He has acted as the Head Arts Director ever since. The Alfa Art Gallery serves as a cultural hub for creativity and inclusivity. Due to its success, the gallery has now been in business for almost 17 years!
Alfa Art Gallery will hold an Opening Reception on Saturday, April 6 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The in-person reception is free and open to the public. Feel free to invite friends and family to accompany you on a fun night out. There will be refreshments and snacks provided upon arrival.
