Richmond Maritime Festival seeks local artists and designers

Artists can submit proposals from now until June 9.

The annual Richmond Maritime Festival is hoping to work with a local artist to create the signature image for this year’s event.

Richmond-based visual artists and graphic designers are encouraged to submit proposals for artwork embodying Steveston’s maritime heritage and history.

The artwork will be used for the festival’s poster and promotional materials, which will be distributed across Metro Vancouver both in print and online.

The 21st Richmond Maritime Festival is set to take place at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site from Aug. 24 to 25.

Artist proposals are accepted from now until Sunday, June 9. Concept art submissions can be emailed to [email protected] and artists can also submit a portfolio of up to five work samples in electronic format.

The winner will be announced in late June and the selected artist will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
