Aspiring musicians across south-west England are being given the chance to have a breakthrough moment at one of the UK’s biggest summer festivals.
Boardmasters Festival, which returns to Newquay, Cornwall, from 5 to 9 August, has a new talent search – Boardmasters Breakthrough – open to vocalists, bands, DJs and artists of any genre or age.
Organisers said the aim was to shine a light on homegrown talent and give acts a shot at performing on a major stage in front of thousands.
The winning act, announced on 25 May, would get a paid opening slot on the main stage on 9 August and also get full weekend access for themselves and a guest per performer, and professionally shot footage of their set.
