Black + Cheneviere Launches a Purpose-Driven Art Advisory Redefining Contemporary Collecting

Gallerists and cultural entrepreneurs Alice Black and Tatiana Cheneviere announce the launch of Black + Cheneviere (B+C), a new art advisory firm that offers a bold alternative to conventional art consulting. Rooted in purpose, patronage, and perspective, B+C introduces a fresh, values-led approach to collecting, one that prioritises artist engagement, curatorial depth, and long-term cultural impact.

Emerging from two of London’s most distinctive independent galleries – ALICE BLACK and PipelineB+C marks a strategic evolution in how collectors and artists are supported. B+C challenges the conventional, transaction-driven ethos often found in traditional advisory models. Instead, it invites collectors to align their acquisitions with personal values, encouraging a slower, more intentional approach to building collections and engaging in the wider artistic ecosystem. Black and Cheneviere will continue to operate their respective galleries in Fitzrovia, London, in tandem with the advisory.

From first-time buyers to seasoned patrons, B+C offers bespoke guidance across both primary and secondary markets, underpinned by a clear curatorial vision and sharp market insight.  In addition, B+C is committed to fostering deeper relationships between collectors and artists through studio engagement and sustained support structures beyond the traditional market system. For some, it may include developing a patronage mindset – one that is rooted in sustained, reciprocal relationships rather than fleeting, arm’s length purchases. Black and Cheneviere say: “We’re interested in helping collectors engage with art not simply as consumers, but as active participants in the cultural landscape – people who want to ask bigger questions and take a more intentional role.”

This commitment to connection will be reflected in Art + Aperitivo, a new monthly event series launching this September in London. Curated gallery tours and studio visits will pair with informal salon-style gatherings, designed to spark dialogue and build community.  Open to existing and would-be collectors, these events offer an accessible introduction to the B+C network, for those exploring a deeper engagement with art and ideas.

Together, Black and Cheneviere represent a confident new voice in art advising, one that is collaborative, female-led, and deeply invested in reshaping how and why we collect today.
