Under radiant blue skies, thousands flocked to Bettystown beach for this year’s National Sandcastle Competition, which turned the shoreline into a vibrant outdoor gallery of imagination and artistry.

Families, children, and sculptors of all ages and backgrounds spent the day crafting everything from towering castles to intricate sea creatures. The joyful atmosphere, coupled with the stunning creativity on display, made for a spectacular community celebration.

Organisers were thrilled with the turnout. “We couldn’t have asked for a better day,” said organiser Susan. “The talent was exceptional, the sun was shining, and it was heart warming to see such a strong sense of community and fun.”

The event would not have been possible without the generous support of its sponsors The Cottages Ireland, Gilna’s Cottage Inn, Meath County Council, BIM-FLAG, Drogheda Credit Union – East Meath Branch, Aldi, The Beach Wardens, Cllrs Sharon Tolan and Maria White, and Pat’s Supermarket, Laytown.
