Westwood Art Month at the Bama features fine art programs highlighting elementary students’ work

This art month will feature the fine arts programs of Westwood Elementary that show off students’ visual art in the Bama Theatre’s Junior League Gallery from April 29 to May 17. the 17th annual Musical Extravaganza will take place on April 30 at 7 p.m. with the Westwood Singers presentation of “Night at the Movies.”

More than 60 students in first through fourth grade will participate, with Chris Babb conducting. Admission is $1 for adults and teens and for children 12 and younger who are not performing. Tickets will be sold at the box office.

Both events are hosted by The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa and Westwood’s adopt-a-school partner.

The artwork created in grades K-4 will all be original and consist of drawings and paintings. There will be awards for Best of Show, first, second, third and honorable mention will be presented. Admission is free to the exhibit and gallery hours are weekdays from nine a.m. to noon, and one to four p.m.
