We are looking for artworks, research, designs and projects from UAL students and recent graduates for a public group exhibition happening in June 2024, which will focus on student living conditions in the private rental sector.
This exhibition builds on the research carried out in Arts SU’s Private Renters ReportThis link will open in a new tab, which highlighted the conditions students at UAL are living amongst, and generated discussion about how both the University and the Students’ Union can support students who are balancing the priorities of their studies, with a high-cost yet low-quality private rental market.
We believe this exhibition will connect with communities to see the common ground and actions that can be taken as a collective. We want to showcase student experiences, amplify their voices regarding their living conditions and the effect it has on their overall studies and mental health, and gain interest for the recommendations put forward in the Private Renters Report.
