‘Calf’ is one of the pieces in the new exhibition by Breda Mayock that is going on display in the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life this week.
Breda Mayock, a visual artist and musician from Mayo, presents a collection of new paintings showing at the Courtyard Gallery in the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park.
In this exhibition, entitled Who Brings The Light, the paintings stem from meditations on past moments, exploring thoughts and memories while attempting to breathe understanding into lived experiences.
The ‘veils’ of paint that Mayock employs seem to mirror the veils that separate us from the other parallel world.
This collection of paintings on canvas allows the viewer a glimpse into the mysteries of existence in an often challenging and opaque world.
The exhibition opens on Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m. and continues until June. Everyone is welcome.
