On Saturday, May 11, the Fenton Arts Council will hold its big event of the year, “Arts Are The Heart — Spring Expressions Festival of the Arts 2024.”
There will be a Pre-Glow on Friday evening, May 10, to honor patrons and members that will include art inspired by community poems for a Poet Mashup Exhibit at the Fenton Community and Cultural Center in downtown Fenton.
The Fenton Arts Council would like to invite individual artists, businesses, and organizations to participate in the Festival of the Arts on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
They plan to have creation stations and workshops throughout the building and on the lawn of Rackham Park behind the building. There will be a tented area for some of the activities in the park. The stations and workshops are expected to include:
• Live entertainment: dancers, singers, musicians, performers, puppeteers, storytellers, magicians, martial arts, gymnasts
• Creation Stations: Robotics, recyclables makerspace, early childhood art explorations, garden grow bar, instrument petting zoo, visual art interactions (painting, sculpting, mixed media, etc.), drum circle, giant community stamp printing, food as art
• Live Demonstrations: Ice sculpting, woodcarvers, caricature artists, painters, Henna artists, face painting, juggling
• Workshops: Dance studio line dance, paper flower workshop, drama workshop and more
