Critical Mass Spark Sessions give in-depth look at select NWLA artists

SHREVEPORT, La. (Arklatex Today) – Here’s a chance to meet and hear from some of northwest Louisiana’s most talented artists.

On June 13, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) invites the community to enjoy presentations by select Critical Mass visual and literary artists during its Spark Sessions, at Artspace, 710 Texas Street. Following Critical Mass, some of the exhibiting artists will showcase the creative process behind their work.

Critical Mass is the biggest art exhibition in northwest Louisiana, showcasing the talents of artists across the area. The exhibition kicked off on April 26. Over 130 works are currently still hanging at Artspace until June 18.

Each artist will have 6 minutes to share the story of their art through a combination of slides and spoken word. The presentations will allow for a deep dive into their inspirations, techniques, and passion that drive these artists to create.

The event will feature three visual artists and three literary artists, each hand-picked for their unique perspectives and exceptional talent.

“By bringing together artists from different backgrounds and disciplines, Critical MASS Spark Sessions aim to spark conversations and questions about the artistic process,” says Shreveport Regional Arts Council.
