The first installment of the 2024 edition of Arts on the Avenue will fill Bernard Avenue from Abbott Street at The Sails to Water Street next week.
The festival that celebrates all things visual art will be set up on Tuesday, July 16 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Chances Casino Kelowna has come on board as a sponsor and thanks to its support there will be a second edition of Arts on the Avenue on August 1, in the same location, also from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“We are so pleased to welcome Chances Casino Kelowna as our new Presenting Partner on this great event,” enthuses Renata Mills, executive director of Festivals Kelowna.
“The fact that a local stalwart in the business community like Chances is willing to invest in creating accessible and unique art experiences for our residents and visitors, speaks volumes about the positive impact arts and culture has on our city”.
The free, outdoor, adult-oriented visual arts-focused event began in 2015. Visitors can find booths featuring many different kinds of art, from painting to weaving, to pottery as well as live demonstrations and eclectic performances at two ‘entertainment pods.’
“People should come prepared to buy art and experience all kinds of visual arts,” explains Saturday Sazaran, the event’s producer.
“This is a great chance to start some early Christmas shopping or to buy a one-of-a-kind gift for a special occasion. We’ll also have live musical performances throughout the day and night so plan to spend a few hours with us.”
Further details about the festival can be found on the Arts on the Avenue Facebook page or through the Festivals Kelowna website. Patrons are invited to tweet their arts experience using #ArtsonAveKelowna and #BuyCreateCelebrate.
