Arts, Beats & Eats returns with Motown partnership, 10 stages and new title sponsor

A four-day outdoor festival of food, music and visual arts returns to downtown Royal Oak Aug. 29-Sept. 1 with some notable changes for 2025.

Organizers of Arts, Beats & Eats announced on Wednesday that the Michigan Lottery would be the new title sponsor through 2027.

“The Michigan Lottery over many years has been an integral partner in our ability to deliver an amazing experience and make a difference,” said festival producer Jon Witz in a press release. “Becoming our title sponsor is both an honor for us and the signal of a powerful new era.”

Notable updates for music fans will be the addition of a 10th stage to the entertainment schedule this summer and a collaboration with the Motown Museum.

In partnership with the University of Detroit Mercy, the Jim Beam National Stage’s programming will kick off with entertainment from Motown Museum’s Hitsville Next Revue. The showcase features renditions of hits by Motown artists like Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, the Four Tops and more. This addition continues for the next two years.

Also new this year, the festival will have what they’re calling a “Tenth Stage” at 6th and Main streets near the 526 Main Dueling Piano Bar. Hosting high-energy dueling pianos, the stage is just outside the festival grounds, so tickets aren’t required.

A full schedule of entertainment, including main stage headliners, is expected to be announced soon.
