WILLIAMSPORT — Artist Sadie Allen will be the Bald Eagle Art League’s guest presenter at their meeting on Thursday, May 2, from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Thomas Taber Museum, located at 858 W. 4th St., Williamsport. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Sadie Allen is an American artist from Bradford County, Pa. Growing up on her family’s dairy farm gave her the privilege of observing several types of livestock every day, especially cows. Faith and caring for the animals are major contributors to the content of her work. Teachers, family and friends noticed artistic ability in her at a young age and constantly encouraged her as an artist. After high school, she earned a BA in Visual Art from Keystone College in LaPlume, Pa.

She then returned to the farm to work as a hired hand and also practice her craft. Sadie likes to work with a variety of mediums such as oil, acrylic, pencil, watercolor, ink, charcoal and pastel. She also enjoys working on both small pieces and large murals.

Some of her more recent public works can be found at the Troy Vets Club in Troy, Troy Sale Barn in Troy, Whispering Pines in Mount Pleasant Mills and Singing Spring Foods in Quarryville, Pa.

When Sadie is not in the studio working on projects, or traveling for art shows, she enjoys volunteering in her community, taking care of her animals and exploring the outdoors. She likes to learn about the local wildlife, plants and fungus, and experiment in the garden.
