In anticipation of its North American release in late October, the Ultraman Card Game has announced a brand-new wave of famous artists contributing to the trading card game. The Wave 2 artists were announced at this year’s New York Comic Con, featuring top talents in fantasy and comics.
Tsuburaya Productions announced its impressive lineup of comic and fantasy artists for the second wave of cards for the Ultraman Card Game at New York Comic Con 2024. The Wave 2 artists are some of the hottest talents in the comic book industry today, such as Sean Chen, Reilly Brown, Davide Tinto and David López from Marvel Comics. Klenda Vee, a fan-favorite artist in the Ultraman fandom, is involved in the new wave of cards alongside Magic: The Gathering artist Bob Eggleton. The Wave 2 release is set for 2025. However, the Ultraman Card Game Starter Deck will be released on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

The Ultraman Card Game was announced in late October 2023. The trading card game “combines the worldbuilding of the Ultraman series with gameplay and collectability that both children and adults can enjoy.” Additionally, “the cards are designed with high-quality artwork to express the appealing elements of Ultraman‘s appearance, power-ups, special moves and type system.” The global 2025 release of Wave 2 will feature four languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The worldwide release will cover 23 countries and regions. 2025 will also see Ultraman Card Game tournaments for competitive players. Players who win in qualifying events can compete in a world tournament planned for spring 2026 in Tokyo, Japan.
