If you’ve tried scoring concert tickets lately, you know it’s no easy feat, especially for a sold-out stadium show like Thomas Rhett’s upcoming performance at Fenway Park.
But some lucky fans in Boston got more than they bargained for when Rhett and fellow artist Teddy Swims showed up early and treated the crowd to a surprise mini-concert right in the middle of Faneuil Hall.
Yes, that Faneuil Hall—the historic spot where you expect street performers, not chart-topping country and soul singers casually stepping in for a pop-up show.
Take a look:
On Friday afternoon, just one day before Rhett’s July 19 concert at Fenway Park, stunned visitors outside Ned Devine’s gathered as the two artists grabbed the mic in one of Boston’s most iconic public spaces. It’s safe to say no one expected to be this close to two of the weekend’s biggest acts. What a day to be in Beantown!

Thomas Rhett’s Fenway concert is part of the 2025 Nucar Fenway Concert Series, presented by Wasabi Technologies. Tonight’s event starts at 5:30 PM and features a stellar lineup, including Teddy Swims, Tucker Wetmore, and The Castellows.
And while the Fenway show promises a packed stadium and plenty of fanfare, that spontaneous Friday set is something only a lucky few will ever get to say they witnessed: a stadium-sized duo playing an intimate sidewalk stage. Now that’s pure Boston magic.
