Marches Artists for Nature to exhibit in Bishops Castle

The Stars in Bishops Castle will host the first official exhibition of the Marches Artists for Nature from Thursday, October 2, to Saturday, October 4.

The group of six local artists, who formed earlier this year, have made nature the central theme of their work.

Their mission is to use art to engage people with the landscapes and nature in the Marches area.

The exhibition will be in aid of the Middle Marches Community Land Trust’s White Grit Meadows Appeal, which aims to purchase five acres of botanically-rich wildflower meadows beneath Corndon Hill.

The six artists, who include Kate Chitham, Tom Davies, Lucy Gaze, Sarah Gillard, and Sarah and Simon Jameson, have also produced a full colour calendar for 2026, with all proceeds going to the appeal.

The exhibition will showcase not only original work featured in the calendar but also other photographs, prints, carved stones, and cards, all with the theme of nature.

A spokesperson for the group said: “With such a broad range of media and diverse styles on offer, you can be sure the exhibition will offer something for all tastes and pockets.”

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 6pm at the Stars, High Street, Bishops Castle.
