Irish artist Talos has died, it has been confirmed.
The news was broken to fans by his family, who shared a short statement online. Talos was 37 years old, and passed away peacefully in his sleep following a short illness.
The statement reads:
It is with great sadness that we let you know that our friend Eoin French, known to many the world over as Talos, has passed away after a short illness.
Eoin passed peacefully in his sleep early on the morning of Sunday August 11 2024 in his native Cork, surrounded by his loved ones.
A beautiful soul, a true artist, a son, a husband, a father, and a friend. We are devastated by his passing.
As was his wish, there will be new music from Talos to share with you all in the future.
Team Talos.

Real name Eoin French, the songwriter hailed from Cork, and quickly caught our ear with a series of dazzling alt-pop vignettes. Debut album ‘Wild Alee’ in 2017 was followed by ‘Far Out Dust’, while 2022 LP ‘Dear Chaos’ made a deep impression on listeners.
A beautiful musician, his work played with light and shade – there was joy in there, alongside an awareness of time’s passing.
CLASH particularly enjoyed his song ‘The Light Upon Us’, stripped from sophomore album ‘Far Out Dust’. A song that found beauty in ending, it feels right to share this once more:
“It’s called ‘The Light Upon Us’ but, the idea of the light… it’s not a positive light. It’s one that erases things. It’s blinding. Sometimes things have to be destroyed for something else to be created. An acceptance that things are supposed to die at some point. Everything has an end.”
Rest in power, Talos.
