Lucknow: Honouring artists at a programme on Independence Day, CM Yogi Adityanath said art transcends the barriers of language and region and embraces the nation. He had invited artists from various states to perform at his residence in Lucknow and said it was their duty to protect and preserve ancient musical instruments.
“Every year, we invite artists from various states to UP for occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day and Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day.Similarly, artists from UP travel to other states. This initiative is a small yet meaningful effort to demonstrate the importance and power of cultural exchange, inspiring us all to participate in this artistic collaboration. By respecting each other’s languages and traditions, we can embody the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’,” the CM said.
Yogi spoke about the importance of preserving ancient musical instruments that modern ones are increasingly overshadowing. He urged artists to safeguard traditional instruments, suggesting that they would even create museums dedicated to them in their communities, as these are vital symbols of India’s artistic heritage.

The Kala Samman awards, conducted by the district administration in collaboration with KalaGram Society for Fine Arts Initiatives, were held at Apparel House in Gurgaon. He discussed improvements in security, infrastructure, and welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He also announced the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Yojana to generate employment for youth, urging citizens to prioritize national development.
