MARS HILL, Maine (WAGM) – As a part of Giberson Studios’ 2nd annual Artist’s Bazaar, artists and crafters gathered in Mars Hill to show off their art pieces and crafts.
From chainsaw art to paintings and sculptures, there were a great variety of art pieces and crafts that were showcased for the community. The bazaar also included live music throughout the day and a food truck to serve folks. Event director Amanda Giberson says this event provides a benficial opportunity to community members.
“My goal was to just profile the artist. If you’re an artist or crafter, I wanted you here, especially if you were a new artist and crafter and wasn’t sure how to present your work, this was a good kickstart to get you out there because the vendor table was very cheap so that it didn’t seem intimidating. So that was my goal to just have people profile their art work. There’s a lot of people that are scared to show their art and I just want to have people get their art out there because it’s important.”
Last year, the event drew in around 18 to 20 vendors. Around 40 vendors from around the County headlined this years art fair. Giberson says she hopes to showcase and welcome even more artists for next year.
