Annual art exhibition at the West Wing Gallery at the Kinetic Exhibition Park had its opening reception on Saturday July 13th. The South West Open art exhibition has bee running for close to fifty years now, and gives an opportunity for talented artists from south west Saskatchewan to display their art for public viewing. The exhibition runs from June 27th-August 18 on Fridays and Saturdays 1-5pm
Morghie Flaterude program coordinator at the Art Gallery of Swift Current said the art show “gives us a chance to know the local artists” and get to know them. She also adds its “a great way to get your artwork out there” They get a lot of visitors through the West Wing Gallery during the summer.
Local artist Jenny Hagan from Eatonia Saskatchewan has three of her photographic works in the show this year. Hagan says “Its wonderful to be able to showcase my work in galleries in Saskatchewan because its one of my favorite places in the world”
The exhibition showcases paintings, photography, sculptures and intricate quilt work which really showcase the artistic talent we have in this province.
