The Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound has opened submissions for Convergence.
Ontario artists have until August 27th to submit their art for the juried exhibition that starts Oct. 18.
“We are excited to invite artists to explore and express their perspectives on the critical relationship between humanity and our environment, underscoring our commitment to fostering dialogue on ecological issues through transformation power of contemporary art,” says Tom Thomson Art Gallery Director and Chief Curator Aidan Ware. “We look forward to witnessing how these artists respond.”
With the gallery’s focus remaining on environmental themes like climate change and natural landscapes, all work submitted must relate to the theme.
Every artist selected for the exhibition will be given $100 per artwork, and three will be awarded $1000.
