The Penticton Art Gallery is gearing up for its summer fundraising auction, a Solstice Soiree on June 22.
The annual auction is one of the fundraisers that allow the gallery to bring in exhibitions of artists from across Canada and beyond. These fundraisers also help support events like Ignite the Arts.
The evening features more than 110 different pieces of art so far that are open to be taken home by the end of the night.
Tickets are priced at $45, and attendees will enjoy delectable Jamaican/Caribbean-inspired cuisine by City Eats, paired with wines from Gold Hills and craft beers from Cannery Brewing.
“We will supply the fancy, so no dress code required, but we won’t stop you from dressing to the nines,” said Chelsea Terry, communications coordinator at the Penticton Art Gallery. “All we ask is people bid generously. Every bid supports our beloved gallery and the vibrant arts community.”
Among the items set to go up on the auction block are the “Double Elvis after Andy Warhol (Sunday B Morning Edition)” and a piece by David T. Alexander RCA valued at $12,500.
Early online bidding is currently open on the items and will be until June 19. To bid online, you can go to 32auctions.com/PAG2024.
In addition to the auction itself, the night features a new 50/50 raffle fundraiser, with exact details yet to be announced.
The gallery has also partnered with Picture This Custom Framing to offer discounts to successful bidders for their prizes.
