New political art exhibition comes to Indigo Crow Gallery in time for the General Election

A new art exhibition is coming to Indigo Crow Gallery during General Election Week. Never Mind the Ballot Box: Art of Politics and Activism will feature art with a political or activist theme.

The exhibition will run from July 2 to 7 from 10am until 4pm daily at Indigo Crow Gallery, 57 Burton Road, Lincoln, LN1 3JY. There will be a special late opening on election day – Thursday, July 4.

As soon as the General Election was called, the team at Indigo Crow Gallery thought it was a great opportunity to run its first open call to artists, asking those who create work with a political or activist theme, sometimes referred to as Artivism, to submit their work. They were delighted with the response and have selected the work of 17 artists from Lincolnshire and further afield.

The work covers a range of themes including UK politics, the environment and civil rights. Some are serious and some are humorous.
