Kolkata gets a new art gallery called Bridging Culture and Arts Foundation | Indiablooms


Kolkata/IBNS: Joining the list of Kolkata’s art galleries, Bridging Culture and Arts Foundation (B-CAF), is located in the city’s southern neighbourhood.

Initiated by Reena Dewan, who has served as the director and curator of two well-known contemporary art institutions, the gallery aims to give a platform to independent artists across genre and age.

According to Dewan, founder and director of B-CAF, “Through our initiatives and programs, we strive to create an inclusive space where artistic diversity thrives, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and mutual growth.” 

B-CAF, a multi-arts organization, includes a green room, a rehearsal and performance area, a fully equipped kitchen, a library, and an exhibition space.

The organisation has four divisions – Artists Development Space (ADS) for Independent Artists, Cultural Preservation & Advancement (CPA) for Traditional Art forms, Arts Connect (AC) for connecting the Public with Arts, Permanent Collection of paintings by Jadu Patuas on tribal narratives.

The gallery was inaugurated by noted artist Jogen Chowdhury in April. 

Also present at the inauguration were Nicolus Facino, Director, Alliance Française du Bengale; Debashis Sen, IAS (Retired), former Managing Director, HIDCO; Mayank Jalan, Chairman & Managing Director, Keventer Agro Limited and Dr Suborno Bose, CEO, IIHM.

The gallery, located in Regent Estate, south Kolkata, opened with an exhibition titled ‘Ecotone’, showcasing the works of artist Koustabh Chakrabarty, which runs till end of this month (4pm to 8pm).

Information: B-CAF Arts Studio will be open every week from Tuesday – Sunday between 10am and 3pm and B-CAF Arts Gallery will operate from 4pm – 8pm.
