Hamilton lofts, art gallery hosts concert to fundraise for hurricane victims

HAMILTON, Ohio (WXIX) -Officials with the Artspace Hamilton Lofts and The Strauss Gallery in Hamilton, Ohio, hosted a concert Saturday to help raise money for the American Red Cross and the Appalachian Helene Response Fund.

Millions of people in the South are still enduring the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, grappling with power outages and a dire shortage of essential supplies.

Director of the Artspace Hamilton Lofts David Stark says that attendees can see multiple musicians perform all day to raise money for a good cause.

“I love seeing the people. I love the great music. I love celebrating our Appalachian history here in Hamilton,” said David Stark, Director of Artspace Hamilton Lofts.

Stark explains that this initiative was a small way to offer relief and a little love to many people in the South.

“When we found out about all of the devasting news about the hurricanes and storms, we had to do something,” Stark said.

Officials say the Hamilton Hurricane Hoedown will take place on 220 High Street until 10 p.m.
