Hadleigh Gallery, on London Road, was launched last month as a space for the area’s creative community to connect and share their art.

The gallery, which has been opened in a former barber shop, is the brainchild of the family behind the popular Plant Faced Coffee Shop.

Florence Geary, co-founder of the new gallery, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support from local artists and residents.

“The gallery was created to give local creative voices a platform and the launch evening really showed how much art brings people together.”
Among those to attend Thursday’s opening event were the Mayor and Mayoress of Castle Point, who praised the gallery’s commitment to championing residents’ talent and enriching Hadleigh’s cultural landscape.

“The gallery was renovated in just one week thanks to the dedication of volunteer customers and community members,” added Florence.

“The space now serves as a contemporary hub for exhibitions, with regularly rotating displays ensuring a fresh experience for returning visitors.”
Hadleigh Gallery was founded by Florence along with her sister Harriet, dad Stephen and family-friend Clifton Pell.

The team hope to host a selection of artists throughout winter, with opportunities for keen exhibitors apply for 2026.
It is open Thursday to Monday, from 10am to 4pm.
