Delhi Contemporary Art Week 2024: Here’s everything you need to know

Rasika Kajaria of Exhibit 320 has created her own platform with varied thoughts and ideas. With master abstractionist Gopi Gajwani, we get a glimpse of permanence within stillness. Exhibit 320 will be showcasing the works of Deena Pindoria, Deepak Kumar, Jayati Kaushik, Kumaresan Selvaraj, Priyantha Udagedara, Kaushik Saha, Gunjan Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Sareena Khemka, Sunaina Bhalla, and Sumakshi Singh. The works of Sri Lankan artist Priyantha Udagedara are currently on display at Exhibit 320 in his solo show titled Weathering Waves.

DCAW’s Bikaner House programming will be accompanied by two thematic and curated exhibitions titled A Bold Step Sideways and Threads That Bare. Girish Shahane curates A Bold Step Sideways, which will embrace a generation of 18 artists showcasing a diverse array of works that freely traverse styles and mediums. From elevating the autobiographical to creating discourses, it features stellar names like Mekhala Bahl (RISD), Purvai Rai (Yale), Al-Qawi Nanawati, Arshi Irshad Ahmadzai, Jasmine Nilani Joseph, Shrimanti Saha, Visakh Menon, Divya Singh, Sajan Mani, and Awdesh Tamrakar, among others.

Threads That Bare is a dynamic interplay of Indian textile traditions offered as modern moorings to create profound, powerful tales in textile communications. The show features 14 artists from six galleries—Khadim Ali, Veena Advani, and Viraj Khanna; Anita Dube, Osman Yousefzada, Pranati Panda, and Ruby Chishti; Anoli Perera and Natasha Das; Geeta Khandelwal and Udita Upadhyaya; Sumakshi Singh and Sunaina Bhalla; and Puneet Kaushik.

Art Mumbai will co-host a public walkthrough with Teesta Bhandare & curator Girish Shahane, on 31st, August at 11.00 am at DCAW.

The Delhi Contemporary Art Week runs from 31st August – 4th September, 2024 at  Bikaner House, New Delhi.
