Day spa and art gallery opens on Ellis Street

The Dahlia, a day spa and art gallery, is open and accepting clients in the Ellis Station building at 1151 Ellis St., Suite 102, in Bellingham.

The business is also taking part in the First Friday downtown event from 6–10 p.m. Friday, April 5.

The Dahlia co-owners Carrie and Brad Bullock said the business has been open for about two and a half months, offering holistic skin and body care. Local artists’ work is also showcased on a monthly rotation. Currently, Carrie Bullock’s prints and acrylic paintings, photography by David Lucas and silk paintings by Stephanie Strong are on display.

Carrie Bullock, who has been an esthetician for more than 21 years, said she wanted the business to combine her two loves: holistic healing and artistic expression.

“Our mission at The Dahlia is to provide a holistic sanctuary where guests can unwind, recharge
and reconnect with themselves,” Bullock said in a news release. “We believe that wellness is not just about pampering the body, but also nurturing the soul. That’s why we’ve created a space that combines the healing power of spa therapies with the inspiration of art.”

The Dahlia specializes in Ayurvedic care, which utilizes beneficial herbs, oils and teas to inspire balance and wellness, according to the spa’s website.

Services include skin and body care, massage therapies, facials and hair removal. The Dahlia also hosts spa parties, where groups can receive 60-minute massages or facials and lounge with charcuterie and beverages while they wait, the website states.

Bullock said the business has a job opening for another esthetician to join the team.

The Dahlia is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The spa is closed on Sundays. Appointments can be made online at thedahliaspa.com/booking. Info: 360-472-2199 and contact@thedahliaspa.com.
