Korean illustrator Lee Kyu-tae’s “Note, 2015 – 2013” launch exhibition will be held at Book Gallery Popotam in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from February 23 (Fri., holiday) to March 17 (Sun.).
Lee Kyu-tae has created numerous illustrations and animations with her soft yet bold depictions of parks, cities, beaches, forests, and other scenes where people spend their time with colored pencils. He is also known for his illustration of “Butterfly” in “GRAPHIC LYRICS with BTS,” a picture book authorized by HYBE, his agency.
This exhibition is held in conjunction with the publication in Korea of “Note, 2015 – 2013,” a collection of illustrations taken from Lee Kyutae’s daily sketches in her Moleskine notebooks, and is organized by YOUR-MIND, an independent bookstore in Seoul that hosts the “Seoul Art Book Fair. In addition to the actual notebook and 100 reproductions of drawings that were not included in the book, an animation created by comic artist Lee Kyu-tae will be shown at the exhibition. In addition, Lee Kyu-tae’s works, including “Note, 2015 – 2013,” will be on sale.
