The popular initiative which gives people a glance inside an artist’s creative mind and working process as well as a chance to see their creations will once again take place later this year.
Open Studios Falkirk will return from September 5 to September 13, giving the public a unique opportunity to step inside the studios and creative spaces of artists, makers and musicians across the Falkirk area.
This community-led initiative, which was first launched last year, is organised by a collective of local artists, craftspeople and creative venues and initially involved 14 “creatives” led by Artlink and D2 The Creative Centre.
During the event, participants open their workspaces to the public, offering visitors the chance to view artwork, discuss creative techniques, watch live demonstrations and buy work directly from local makers.

The event spans home studios, professional creative spaces and community venues, offering a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into Falkirk’s growing creative community.
This year’s event will launch with a special opening evening at Studio 164 Falkirk on Friday, September 4 and will feature an exhibition of participants’ work, a drinks reception and a DJ set by Lexie May.
Local artist Nikki Monaghan, who is co-leading this year’s event, said: “One of the most important parts of Open Studios Falkirk is helping local creatives connect and collaborate.
“We want artists and makers to meet each other, share ideas, support one another and feel part of a wider creative community. The more we work together, the stronger Falkirk’s arts scene becomes.”
Registration is now open for creatives who would like to take part in this year’s event and organisers are encouraging applications from artists, designers, architects, craftspeople, sculptors, DJs, musicians and anyone working in a creative field.
Those without their own studio space are also encouraged to get in touch, with organisers committed to helping participants find suitable venues.
Co-lead organiser Rhona Duffy, a mosaic artist and craftsperson and the founder of Studio 164 Falkirk, said: “It’s an exciting time for Falkirk’s arts, crafts and cultural scene.
“Alongside long-established creatives and venues who have been blazing the trail for years, we’re now seeing new funding opportunities, new creative spaces, and growing support for traditional arts, crafts and local culture.”
Registration deadline for the 2026 event is June 30.
